The custard-apple is a West Indian fruit. It has a custard-like eatable pulp. the pulp is very white, tender, delicate and delicious. It is also known more precisely as the scaly custard-apple because of the scales which cover its greenish-yellow skin. It has black glossy seeds. It is eaten as a dessert fruit and also used to make juice and to flavour ice-creams.
