PINEAPPLE

The pineapple is a tropical plant known for its sweet juicy fragrant fruit. Its flesh is firm and pale yellow. It probably received its name because the fruit looks like a large pine cone. Many people enjoy drinking the juice of the fruit and eating it as dessert or in salads. The fruit has a greenish-orange yellowish-green or dark green skin. At the top of the fruit is a group of small leaves called the crown in several varieties.
