The water chestnut is a leafy floating aquatic plant. It is also called the water Caltrop. It is called the Singhara nut in India. The fruit has large white kernel. It is largely cultivated in lakes, ponds or along the river banks. It has a cool and delicious taste when eaten raw and it is also used as flour for nutritious purposes.
